Our green and kind credentials

The team at Motta Living work hard to reduce, reuse and recycle our waste. We aim to be as environmentally friendly and charitable as possible within the boundaries that our business parameters will allow.

We firmly believe in recycling packaging and that’s why you will often receive your order in used cardboard boxes. Sometimes we will add a little new packaging, but we try to keep this to a minimum and our branded tape will keep your package secure until it reaches you.

We care about the items we purchase and where they’re made.

We try to stock products from local makers, produced close to home in the UK. We also stock beautiful pieces from further afield but will always make sure we order in quantities that reduce unnecessary shipping and where possible always buy Fair Trade and sustainable products.

On the product descriptions on our website, we’ll let you know if the item is sourced locally, Fairtrade, charitable or assisting the more impoverished people in our world.

What else do we do?

We use energy-efficient light bulbs in our offices and turn them on only when needed.
Motta Living only sends essential paperwork in any order – a shipping document and returns information, everything else is sent by email, so please always check your spam!
Paper that isn’t required isn’t thrown away. We shred it and then use it as bedding for our chickens before it is composted.
Pallets are reused or given away to a good home.
Damaged ceramic is broken into smaller pieces and used in the bottom of garden pots for drainage.
Imperfect or end of line stock is either sold in the sale category of the website at greatly reduced prices, given to charity or to needy individuals to help furnish their homes.
If one of the team happens to be travelling to an area where a parcel is going then we will hand-deliver or meet up with the customer. Why have two vehicles going to the same place when one can do it – saves on the carbon footprint.
We make charitable donations (on a charity by charity basis) and support local events.
